Before you start the certification process, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with our requirements. These include our organic standards and the Swissness criteria that must be met for successful certification.

Organic certification via one of our partners
LuxAgro accepts recognised Swiss organic certifications. You can find a list of our partners here. If your farm is not yet certified, please contact us and we will support you with the conversion and find suitable partner organisations.

Commitment to the Swissness Declaration
Ensure that your products are manufactured in accordance with the Swissness criteria of the Swiss Trademark Protection Act - with raw materials and processing in Switzerland. Please contact us if you have any further questions about the Trademark Protection Act.

Submit documents for LuxAgro certification
Send us all the necessary information: Your organic certification body, the corresponding certificate number and the signed Swissness self-declaration. You will then be given the opportunity to pay the membership fee conveniently.

Obtaining LuxAgro certification and labelling products
After successful testing and certification, your company will receive our organic seal. You can then label your products with our Luxagro organic seal and use it to inform consumers about your sustainable and local production.

LuxAgro is an independent Swiss organic label that combines organic production methods with a legally guaranteed origin from Switzerland. It stands for transparency, sustainability and genuine Swissness.
How does the certification work?
Certification takes place in five steps: Inform, prove organic certificate, confirm Swissness, submit documents, receive seal. The entire process is clearly structured and suitable for both smaller and larger businesses.
Is LuxAgro itself a certification body?
No. LuxAgro awards the seal on the basis of existing organic certifications, but does not carry out its own certification. We work exclusively with recognised, independent partner bodies.
What does “Swissness” mean for food?
Swissness refers to legally protected indications of origin for products from Switzerland. For foodstuffs, this means that the majority of the raw materials come from Switzerland and the main processing steps also take place here.
How can I check whether my company fulfils the Swissness criteria?
The Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG) provides an online tool with which you can calculate the Swissness eligibility of your products. We will be happy to assist you if you have any questions.
