Our seal stands for companies that are guided by the principles of ecological, social and economically balanced agriculture. The focus is on the careful use of natural resources, regional cycles and the reduction of emissions. Many of our members consciously focus on short transport routes, the avoidance of synthetic additives and the responsible use of energy. The label is intended to be a visible sign of agriculture that takes future generations into consideration.

Responsibility for animals
Our partner farms attach great importance to animal-friendly husbandry. The seal stands for species-appropriate husbandry, GMO-free feeding and the least stressful handling of farm animals. Responsible processes are also observed during transport and slaughter. For us, animal welfare means respect for life in all its forms.

Preserve diversity
With the LuxAgro seal, we promote biodiversity - through diverse crops, flower strips, hedges and more. The use of synthetic chemical pesticides is excluded. The aim is to preserve or create natural habitats for insects, birds and soil organisms. For us, biodiversity is a central feature of a stable, sustainable ecosystem.

What does “100% organic” mean at LuxAgro?
All products labelled with the LuxAgro seal come from organic farming – verifiably certified by recognised Swiss inspection bodies. Genetic engineering, synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilisers are excluded.
Who certifies the organic farms for LuxAgro?
Certification is carried out exclusively by independent Swiss inspection bodies. They check compliance with all organic standards.
What are the requirements for the seal?
In addition to organic certification, LuxAgro also applies additional values: Sustainability, animal welfare, biodiversity, fairness and transparency. Only those who fulfil all of these criteria are allowed to carry the seal.
Is LuxAgro itself a certification body?
No. LuxAgro awards the seal on the basis of existing organic certifications, but does not carry out its own certification. We work exclusively with recognised, independent partner bodies.
Why do we also need the Swissness criteria?
The LuxAgro seal not only stands for organic, but also for origin. The Swissness criteria ensure that raw materials and processing actually come from Switzerland – legally protected by the Trademark Protection Act.
What do the name LuxAgro and the sunflower in the logo mean?
The name LuxAgro is made up of two Latin words:
Together, this means “field of light” – the sunlight that allows life to grow in the field.
The sunflower in the logo symbolises this energy. It is a global symbol of optimism, growth, strength and community. Its orientation towards the sun expresses loyalty and constancy, its life cycle symbolises development and abundance.
LuxAgro thus combines the idea of naturalness, vitality and sustainability with a strong image that is immediately recognisable.
